My Language Profile

My Language Profile

1. What is it?

It is your personal showcase of what you produced in different languages showing your language skills and knowledge in those languages. Eventually when it is ready, it is a tool to show your competence and may be used when applying for a job or a place to study.

2. How do I do this?

- You create a word-file (use the desktop word) and save it on OneDrive.
- add all the languages you study
- add the assignments the teacher suggests under each language course
- you update this all along your upper secondary school

3. And how to do this in practice:

1. download the office desktop by going to "vapaa-ajan tila", logging in to O365 & downloading the package from the right-hand corner (Asenna)
2. Search Word from the start-up menu & open it
3. Add the front page: Lisää - kansilehti - choose one
4. Give the title (My Language Profile)
5. Add subheadings to the next page: 1. English 2. Swedish/Svenska 3. Deutch/German...
5. Add subheadings to those: 1. English - 1.1 ENA1 - 1.1 ENA2...
6. Add the assignments your teacher suggests under further subheadings: ENA1.1 - 1.1.1 composition, 1st version - 1.1.2 composition, 2nd version, 1.1.3 composition, peer evaluation... & copy paste your assignment under each subheading
7. Once ready, save it on your OneDrive: tallenna - tallenna nimellä - OneDrive Pohjois-Karjala EDU - your languages folder - My language Profile
8. Whenever you add something or in any way edit your language profile, use the desktop word as it is a lot more convenient than the online word.
