In order to accomplish this course you need to:
* attend the lessons
* do at least 90 % of the required assignments on Studeo 
* hand in the required assignments on time
* take the word tests
* take the irregular verbs test
* write a composition
* take at least the required listening comprehensions (1 basic level ME & those marked compulsory on Studeo + the listening comprehension tests in the course exam)
* set aims at the beginning of the course & reflect your learning at the end of it
* take part in the course exam


And what does this literally mean:

Word tests:
*20 words into it, either in English, or in Finnish, preferably both (10 words each)
* each of you composes one word test during the course. 
* the test must be sent to the teacher via email (piritta.kokkonen@edu.joensuu.fi) or wilma by the previous afternoon at the latest
* the teacher prints the test and makes copies, giving 2 to 4 students 
* the test will be checked by the composer and evaluated by the teacher
* the GPA of your word tests will be added to your course exam = the maximum of 10 points.
* thematic glossries will be tested and their GPA will be added to the course exam (and those will not be tested again in the course exam) = the maximum of 30 points

Irregular verbs tests:
* only words
* fill in all the three forms of the verb
* the list under the tab "Grammar" - "Aikamuodot ja epäsäännölliset verbit" - scroll down to the blue list on Studeo

Written assignments:
* one composition on Abitti

Listening comprehensions:
* 1 matriculation exam (ME), basic level on Abitti
* at least 6 smaller LCs on Studeo
* if you fail to do this, extra time will be arranged to take them

Course exam:
* vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension, listening comprehension & composition parts
* in the exam week
* 5 hours, from 8-13
* On Studeo
* bring your own computer, headphones & charger with

AND THE DIVISION:

* 55 % of your final grade will come from the average of your listening comprehension, composition (both version), word tests & of how well you follow the given schedules
* 45 % comes from the course exam; the course exam needs to be passed to pass the module. 
* NOTE, however, that you will get the grade only after module 2, after which you will receive a shared grade for both modules
* module 1 counts for 25 % and module 2 for 75%
If your grade hangs between 2 numbers, your activity, the grades of your compositions & listening comprehensions affect whether it will be the lower or higher one
