Meaning:
-"why?" eg. dictionary--> meaning of a word, dictionary definition isn´t the whole story--> abstract

-"how"?" context dependent, requires coherence and social interactions

what does it mean to learn a language and language structures?
Learning a language and its structures can be done many ways. One way is to learn it itself without any conscious thinking. Another way is to study the structures by heart concsiously. The other way can be succesfull or unsuccesfull. It is important not only to study things by heart, but also understand the structures behind them.
Learning a language means that you can communicate with the language.
what languages have you been learning? When?
I have been learning Finnnish as my mother tongue. After Finnish my second language to learn was English at school. After that I started to learn Swedish. At high school I selected French as a optional language. I got interested in languages, and I´ve been learning basics of Japanese ja German as well.

what is language awareness?
- understanding, that language is not only what you read from books. It is also pictures.
-language awareness is understanding, that also art and music is language.
-understanding children´s own language from their own world.
-respecting dialects.
-explicit knowledge about language, and consious perception and sensitivity in language learning, language teaching and language use.
