Guy Fawkes night is a celebration in England that is celebrated every year in England on the 5 of November. It is also known as Bonfirenight or Guy Fawkes day. It's history begins 5.11.1605. He was a conspirator. When a member of Gunpowder plot was arrested while guarding explosives the ploters had placed beneath the house of parliamant. The idea for Guy Fawkes day is to celebrate the fact that King James the first had survived the attempt of his life people lit bonfires around London and months later the introduction of the observance on 5th of November act inforced an anual public day of Thanksgiving for the fail of the atempt. Thanksgiving is also celebrated in the USA. Bonfirenight is also celebrated in New Zeleand and South-Africa and the parts of Kanada were they speak english. They put fireworks and bonfires all around England and the best can be seen in London for sure.
A traditional thing as well is to eat treacletoffee and roast chestnuts and marshmallows on the bonfire. Children like to make strawguys that looks like Guy Fowlks as a celebration of the fact that he did not blow up parliament. The word guy comes from his name. 
They still celebrate Bonfirenight but less then they did before. Haloween has taken over Bonfirenight a lot so it's been forgotten more and more. Several foreigners have mooved to England in the last decade so they don't know so much about it. Guy Fawlks real name is Guido Fawlks, but he is called Guy Fawlks.
