Harju School is a primary school located next to the town hall in the center of Lahti. Harju was designed by a famous Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen and it was completed in 1923. It is also a valuable listed building and protected by National Board of Antiquities.
Harju School consists of grades 1-6. The number of pupils is 310. There are special education classes grades (grades 4, 5 and 6) and preparing classes for immigrant children in our school. There are many international pupils from different countries studying at Harju School.
Our School supplies English, German and Russian as first foreign language starting on the 3rd grade. All the first and second graders learn some English during first two school years. We love studying languages and cultures.
