This course focuses on qualitative research paradigm. It is an introductory course to qualitative research methods. Dr. Leena Halttunen goes through different stages of qualitative research. The course will give students an overall picture of qualitative research and help them understand when qualitative research methods are applicable. The course will also help students evaluate the validity and reliability of qualitative research.

Throughout the course participants should reflect the content of the lectures and readings in relation to your own thesis work or plans. At the end of this course you are to write a final assignment. This assignment is designed to guide your thesis work. Choose the assignment which best fits into your own thesis process at this point.

The course consists of 6 sessions, including lectures, readings and assignments related to them.
