Course overview

This course gives an overview of leadership and management in educational organizations and institutions. The purpose is to apply general views of leadership to the school context and to introduce into different perspectives of educational leadership. Students are presumed to have basic knowledge of different perspectives of leadership. The course focuses on the historical development of school leadership. Special attention is given to different ways of conducting school leadership training in various countries. By participating this course students are expected to familiarize themselves with the school leadership training in their own (or neighbouring) country by writing a report on that.
