Lecture 2 Definitions of terms

In this lecture, you will learn the key terms in this course: intercultural vs. cross-cultural communication, three different perspectives, interpersonal communication, and adaption. Please pay special attention to the relationship between personal interpretations and adaption.

Before any lecture either open or save to your computer the assigned PowerPoint presentations.

Assignment before the lecture: Culture can be defined in many ways. If you just “google” the word culture, you will find out that there are hundreds of definitions out there. Before listening the lecture please write down into your reflective report how do you define a culture?

Your task is to find couple of different definitions for ‘a culture’ from different sources, and come up with a one definition that you find is close to your own understanding of culture. You may combine different definitions / sources and add your own views to this definition. Please share your definition in a discussion board.
