Työtä tehtiin innolla ja monille kaarnan veistely oli aivan uutta. Ensimmäinen veistelykerta oli jännittävä, ja yksi pala laastariakin tarvittiin. Ajatus veneen vesillelaskusta aiheutti hieman keskustelua, sillä veistelyn tuloksena oli saatu aikaan hienoja veneitä. Yhdessä kuitenkin sovittiin veneiden vapauttamisesta ja niiden mukana lähetettävistä puhtaiden vesistöjen toiveista. Kummiluokan kanssa rannassa tehtiin yhteistyössä purjeet ja kiinnitettiin masto paikoilleen. Oli tärkeää, että veneeseen käytetyt materiaalit ovat maatuvia luonnonmateriaaleja.
