Hello everyone,

Mina olen Vanessa Krauss. I am 20 years old and I am from Germany. Since September 2017 I study at the UEF in Joensuu. In the future I want to become a teacher for primary school, therefore I made an five weeks long internship at your school. It was one of my best experiences and I am very happy to had the opportunity to be part of the school life.

Becoming part of your school life was sometimes a bit difficult .. I am very sorry but your language is quite hard for me. Even though I tried to manage talking to you kids as good as possible, and your faces and gestures showed me that we understand each other more often than I expected.

In that case I can say that I learned a lot from these five weeks! And I hope that you kids learned to speak more English, because, as I told you, you can speak English very well 😉!!

In my teaching practice time I also got the chance to teach. I introduced some German sport games in grade 6 (do you remember fireball, or “Brennball”?), I taught Basketball together with Lise in grade 2, and my grade 3 focused on their preferred animals in our spring project.

All in all, it was my best teaching practice I ever had, and I only can say kiitos paljon for everything!!

I hope to see you all again, nd I hope that you keep me in mind… as I do 😊

Greetings form an german exchange student

Vanessa
