<content type="html">&lt;p&gt;In Lecture 2, you will learn the classical definitions of organisation. Weber (1947) proposed that organisation has boundaries, structure, power hierarchy, and devision of labour. Barnard (1938) emphasized the people element and interaction. Etzioni (1964) and Scott (1964) defined organisation as social entity requiring a common goal and people's will. Katz and Kahn (1978) brought environment into the definition of organisation.
