Sunday May 4
We left Ivalo at 1 pm and flew via Helsinki to Istanbul. It was raining in Istanbul when we arrived there in the evening. We took a minibus to Airport Hotel Wow, had a supper at the restaurant and went to bed as we had an early wake in Monday morning. UK

Monday May 5
The Finns' flight left Istanbul for Trabzon at about 7 am and we had to wake up at about 5 am. We hadto be at the airport about one hour before the flight departure. We were in Trabzon at about 8.50 am and one Turkish teacher, Cengiz, and the Polish people were meeting us at the airport. The finns took their luggage and went to the bus which took them to Giresun. In Giresun we went to the Turkish school and it took some time when we went to our host students' homes.

In the evening Anna, Rauna, Niina, Maria Deniz, Tugba, Elif and Bahar went bowling and it was fun. We tried to plau billiards, too. When we left home it was raining outside.

Thursday May 8
On Thursday morning we all went back to school to eat breakfast and then we just hung out at the school for a while. Then all the Comenius teams and hosts went to see the Giresun museum and one mosque. They both were really cool. After that we went shopping but because we were really tired we didn't spend a long time at the shops. Then we all went to our homes and Anna and Maria with Anna's host family went to Maria's family and they had dinner there. They spent a great evening and it was very late before Anna, her host Tuðba and Tuðba's mother went back their home.

Saturday May 10
Time to say goodbye and go home. We left Giresun very early in the morning. All the host families took their guests to the hotel and there was sad crying as everybody had to bid farewell to their new friends. Our bus drive to Trabzon and the flight to Istanbul went well. In istanbul we took the underground and the tram to our hotel. We had lunch in a restaurant near Sultan Ahmet. We were late from the Topkapi museum and couldn't enter but we saw the underground water storage and the Great Bazaar, lots of people and nice cafés. Weather was warm and sunny. Later we had supper in a snack bar near our hotel.

Sunday May 11
The flight to Helsinki was at 11. The day was beautiful both in Istanbul and in Helsinki but when we reached Rovaniemi at around 5.30 pm it was cloudy and rainy, +1. We had to wait for the bus to Ivalo for two and a half hours and finally we arrived at Ivalo at 20 past twelve midnight. Everybody was dead tired but happy after the long and interesting trip to Turkey. We learned a lot about the Turkish way of life and can now appreciate more the different customs people have around Europe.

: We visited the dripstone cave inside this mountain. There were beautiful stalactites and stalagmites there
