The ”Text field” form field is an open task type where the participant answers a question in their own words. The size of the text field can be modified, giving you the option to create large essay questions or smaller verbal tasks.

Text field: editing and examining responses

1.When modifying a form, click on the text field and write the instructions for your task. After doing so, click on the ”Text field” button from the form field menu. A text that reads “Text field label [[h=1]]” will appear in the form’s text field.

2. Change the label text and determine the size of the text field:

Replace the number that follows “h=” with a larger number to increase the size of the text field. The larger the number, the more rows the text field will contain.
Replace the label with your own text.

3. You can add multiple text fields to a form. The participant will write their answers in the text field(s) and click “Save”.

4. You can examine the responses given by the participants by clicking on the “Responses” button.
