Halikon lukio is ''better than an ordinary high school'', written by Helsingin Sanomat, the main newspaper in Finland which published a whole double page article on Halikon lukio on 30th January 2013.

There are about 200 students in Halikon lukio and it has staff of about 20 persons. Halikon lukio is an ideal-sized high school with a wide range of courses, yet it offers individual teaching and guidance – each student is valued and is paid attention to.

Halikon lukio offers high-quality and up-to-date teaching as well as gives a solid ground for demanding further studies. Students study in a modern learning environment and a pleasant atmosphere at Halikon lukio. Cooperation between teachers and students is direct and proximit.

The strengths of well-sized Halikon lukio are individuality, caring, guidance, good team spirit, ability to detach oneself from daily routines and an active students' union. You can feel the strong Halu-atmosphere in Halikon lukio.

The school was founded in 1973 by the permission of Government and the first students graduated in 1976. The school building was completed in 1976 and in 1985 the building was extended. In 1980 the Ministry of Education gave its permanent support to the school. In the 1990's the school got more versatile adding a bit fun along the schoolwork, for example field and school trips. Little by little the school has developed to its current form; a non-graded upper secondary school. The school moved to a new building on the first of December 2008 to have bigger and more modern premises.
