5-6 EKL HANDICRAFTS (Today's Handicrafts homework can be done in two parts, measure the dimensions and draw today and return pictures and learning diary by Tuesday 3 pm at the latest)

1. Draw a floor plan of your home.

Use correct markings and units while you draw.
Start by measuring each room's width and length.
Remember the scale 1cm:100, meaning that 1cm on a floor plan represents 100cm=1m on a realistic scale.
2. Take a picture of your drawing and upload it in your Crafts Peda.net folder.
3. Write your learning diary. Use the same questions as in the previous weeks.

2. Read the examples
Adding fractions that have a common denominator (Yhteenlasku murtoluvuilla, joilla yhteinen nimittäjä):
Add the numerators (osoittajat) together, denominator (nimittäjä) will not change on the bottom.
Eg. 3/4 + 1/4 + 3/4 =7/4.
-Next, convert an improper fraction to a mixed number by dividing 7 by 4. 7/4 --> 1 whole and remainder 3/4
-Answer is 1 3/4

Adding mixed numbers (sekalukujen yhteenlasku): You may use this or the book's option for calculating.
1 4/5 + 2 3/5 =?
First, convert mixed numbers to improper fractions. 1 4/5 = 9/5 AND 2 3/5 = 13/5
Add the improper fractions altogether(add only the numerators, the denominator stays the same) 9/5+13/5 = 22/5
Convert to a mixed number by dividing 22 by 5 --> 22/5 = 4 wholes and remainder 2/5
-Answer is 4 2/5

Let's test Google Classroom.
1. Log in to your Cygnnet e-mail and open Google's front page when you are logged in. Click the dotted icon on top-right of your screen to choose Google Classroom.
If you cannot get there, ask help from your friends on Chat first. If you can't still resolve the problem, send me a message.
2. Click the course EKL 5-6 remote teaching. You will be directed to the front page called Stream(Striimi) of the Classroom.
3. Choose Tasks(Tehtävät) on top of the page and then click the task EKL 5-6 English 6.4. which is a self-assessment.
4. Fill out a self-assessment form, Submit(Lähetä) and remember to click the icon Turn in(Palauta) in the end.

Now that distance learning seems to be continuing, of course, the last meeting I announced earlier will also be cancelled.

If and when, at the end of the spring, we get back to school or go to school at some point, then time will be arranged so that you can complete your missed work if you wish, or at least get your work from the class.

If you have uploaded a picture to your Pedanet page of that Knots distance learning session assignment, I would like you to give me reading and commenting permission so I can go look at it. Please, inform me how I find your page, for example, a description of a profile picture or other characteristic.

2. Go to Google Classroom and you will find instructions for ENS 7.4.
Instructions are below as well but submit your answers in Google Classroom. Let your teacher know if you cannot do it by yourself.

1. Study the four different cardinal directions. You need them tomorrow in a coordinate exercise.
2. Watch the video about continents and oceans. Write down the names of the seven continents and five oceans in Google Docs. Follow the instructions of the tutorial video (Peda.net) or follow the instructions below.

To attach a new doc: Under -Your work-, click -Add or create- and then select -Docs-. A new file attaches to your work and opens. Click the file and enter your information (names of the different continents and oceans). If you want to, you can add a private comment to your teacher. Under -Private comments-, enter your comment and click -Post-. Remember to Click -Turn In- and confirm. The status of the assignment changes to Turned in.
