<content type="html">This version of the periodic table features some essential elements and a few properties:&lt;br/&gt;&#10;&lt;ul&gt;&#10;&lt;li&gt;the chemical symbol, consisting of at most two letters, the first always capitalized&lt;/li&gt;&#10;&lt;li&gt;the atomic number, or the number of protons in the atom above the chemical symbol&lt;/li&gt;&#10;&lt;li&gt;the period (1 -- 7), or row, tells the number of electron shells in the atom&lt;/li&gt;&#10;&lt;li&gt;the group (I -- VIII), or column, tells the number of electrons on the outermost shell in the atom&lt;/li&gt;&#10;&lt;/ul&gt;&#10;In addition,&lt;br/&gt;&#10;&lt;ul&gt;&#10;&lt;li&gt;metals are framed in blue&lt;/li&gt;&#10;&lt;li&gt;metalloids are framed in light blue&lt;/li&gt;&#10;&lt;li&gt;nonmetals are framed in orange&lt;/li&gt;&#10;&lt;/ul&gt;</content>
