Lecture 1 Defining leadership and management

In the first lecture the constructs of leadership and management are defined giving special attention to leadership as an element in behavioural sciences. At the end of the lecture a framework describing the development of skills in leadership and management skills is presented, and an individual small exercise is given.

Write your learning experiences into your personal Reflective report

Assignment after the lecture: Using the graph of management and leadership (the x- and y- axis) draw your solution of the learning curve of a new manager. Then, in lecture 2, listen to the solutions of other students and the “right” answer presented by the lecturer.
