Professor Alava tells an important example about MacGregor's X and Y theories in the organization. These two assumptions subconsciously guide leader's attitudes toward the employees and finally reach the self fulfillment.

Lecture goes deeper into the motivation theory and its application in real work settings. We learn how positive reinforcement can encourage wanted behaviours. And also, how removing negative reinforcement also motivates the people.

We learn that the core message of all motivation theories is that motivation increases if the psychological states of mind are achieved: people are motivated when they find the work meaningful and rewarding. Giving constant feedback and empowerment can also increase people's motivation level.

Before any lecture either open or save to your computer the assigned PowerPoint presentations.

Assignment before the lecture: Read article 17 from the course book S & O & J.

Open or save the PowerPoint slides related to this lecture S2_L4.pdf

Listen to the lecture, and afterwards do the assignment given below.

&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;Cannot display this embedded content because your browser does not support iframes.&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/p&amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;

Write your learning experiences into your personal reflective report. The reflective reports for all lectures will be submitted in one file after lecture 6.

Assignment after the lecture: none
