De 1945 à 1952, le Corbusier construit la "cité radieuse" de Marseille sous la forme d'un parallélépipède sur pilotis ce qui constitue une innovation importante dans la conception architecturale. Il crée une nouvelle forme de cité : le village vertical, composé de 360 appartements duplex distribués par des rues intérieures. Édifié entre 1945 et 1952, situé sur le boulevard Michelet à Marseille c'est l'une des cinq unités d'habitation construite par le Corbusier au cours de sa carrière.<br/>
