Topic in Chapter 5, part 2, p. 59. You will write your speeches in pairs and can get started on this only after the lesson when Part 1 is studied. You will have one week to prepare and write your speech with your pair.

Word tests:

There are no word tests. The tests will be on the list of prepositional verbs, nouns and adjectives ( p. 144-159). There will be one test a week during weeks 15-20. Each test will have the maximum score of 20 points. All prepositional tests will add up to 120 points. These points will affect 20% of the evaluation of the whole course.

Evaluation

Course exam 80% + preposition tests 20%. A good grade for your speech will bring your course grade up in case your exam mark is eg. 8 ½ (grade on your speech >9 -> course grade 9)

The final course exam grade will consist of the following points:

Vocabulary exercises based on texts and glossaries in the course book around 60-80 p.

Reading comprehension 30- 40p.

Listening comprehension exam 90p.

4) Written assignment (done at the exam) 99p.

Home work (independent work included) percentage must be minimum 35% to pass the course. With percentage 85 and above you will receive extra points in your course exam. No lies or cheating with the homework list allowed.

Absences. Three absences allowed. Absences 4-5, ask for extra work, 6 or more(with no explanations/reasons for the absences given), course terminates.

Grammar: This course is a revision course for the coming matriculation examination. Therefore it does not introduce new grammar content but we are meant to look at the grammar that has been studied on courses 1-6. Here is a list of suggested grammar we can revise on this course:

1.Ehtolauseet
2.Indefiniittipronomineja
3.Infinitiivi ja ing-muoto
4.Passiivi
5.Relatiivipronominit
6.Suorat kysymykset
7.Vaillinaiset apuverbit

We should have time to look at at least four of the grammar topics from the list. Please let me know which ones those four would be by the second lesson. There will be no grammar in the course exam, so this is simply for revision and to bring back to your minds what you (should) have already learned.
