During the pre diploma program year most of the pre-IB students study five courses of mathematics according to Finnish mathematics syllabus.
Students who will choose Mathematical Studies in the IB study two courses together with everybody else, but choose the third course from the national syllabus.
Future SL students have to study four courses of mathematics, but it is strongly recommended that you study the fifth course as well. Future HL students will study five courses of mathematics.
The course book is Pamela Vollmar et al., Mathematics for the international student, Pre-Diploma SL and HL (MYP 5 Plus), second edition, Haese & Harris Publications 2008.
"“Some mathematician has said pleasure lies not in discovering truth, but in seeking it.”
