Again this year we had an excellent opportunity to check out the Ivalo High School Christmas party. The program was very good and consisted mainly of students of different grades giving plays and music performances.
The first play was made by the second grade students. It was called "Tiernapojat" accoding to a traditional Finnish Christmas play which the students had revised into not so traditional form to make it funnier.
The second show was also given by the second year students, except that this time we heard some beautiful music. The music group played some Bach and one of their friends self-composed song. After that everyone could get some glogg.
Then the first year students made an invasion to the stage. They had to act a play which contained few words the third year students had decided like "Elämä on." Students survived from their task very well.
After the ultimate show given by the first year students we got the second year students on the stage - again. This time they had a dance on their minds called "Tonttutanssi". During the show we saw discodancing, tango, breakdance etc.
Next part of the party was a quiz held by the first year students. The competitors got on the stage and their task was to bring specific kinds of people up to the stage. Speed played a big role in getting points but the game ended into a draw. Then the new logo for the student union was revealed. The student union is the political part of the school.
The last part of the party was maybe the most expected and at the same, maybe the most feared one. The third year students were about to deal the diploms they had made to younger students.
At first they played a small play about the situation the student was about to get his/her diplom and everyone was having a good laugh.
During the party you could buy some lottery tickets and then there was also a distribution of prizes.
We think everyone had quite a good time and then went happily home to spend a well-earned Christmas holiday of theirs.
