On Thursday 16th February there was a big celebration because our 3rd graders were at school for the very last day. The celebration started at 11.00 am. We all went to the junior high school's gymhall and got it all going.
First, you had to go through a "traptunnel". It was fun. There were lots of crawling and then they messed up your face with lipstick. The 3rds were dressed up in all kinds of Halloween costumes and they threw candies for everybody. Then they rewarded some teachers and gave small plays. The plays were fun and even a little bit of embarrasing. Then some teachers got a fun rewards from the students.
After that they told us what were the results of a questionnaire that we had done before. It was about for example, who was the nerd of the year and so on. Then they asked some volunteers. Well, nobody was voluntary, so they forced two students to come. Their mission was that they had to recognize a teacher with their eyes closed by touching them. It was really fun to watch. Next thing was that everybody had to dance and the music was the legendary disco song, Bee Gees' Staying' alive. We learned some cool moves and it was a very hilarious experience.
The last thing was that the 2nd and the 1st graders carried the 3rds out of the building. It is an old habit wich has a symbolic meaning. The meaning is that we hope that the 3rds will never return. They drove away with a lorry and went to the lower grade and gave those little devils candies, too.
